Narrative Structure
01:00Narratives are central to our existence, linking events and actions together which usually revolve around people. Narratives are about things happening, usually about people to doing things. If we are to clearly understand the content of a film narrative or fully comprehend the meanings intended by the filmmaker, the narrative needs to be structured appropriately.
Most narratives are what we call we call linear narratives. They move forward in a straight storyline. Starting from the beginning moving to the middle and to the end.
Non-linear narratives often start at the middle of the story and then double backs to the beginning.
